WHAT HAPPENED
Dallas led 10-7 at halftime. Then Emeka Egbuka scored on a 14-yard run, Irving punched one in from a yard out, and Tampa Bay never trailed again. Dallas answered late, when Dak Prescott hit George Pickens for 18 yards with 5:30 left, then missed the two-point try.
Jalon Daniels started at quarterback for Tampa Bay in place of Baker Mayfield, who was out with a thumb injury, per PFF.
WHY IT'S INTERESTING
Per PFF, Irving's goal-line work was thin through the first four weeks: two goal-line snaps in that span, with Kenny Gainwell and Sean Tucker taking the rest of the short-yardage snaps. Thursday, PFF says, he got the Bucs' first two goal-line snaps. He turned them into a 5-yard catch from Daniels and a 1-yard run.
Dallas moved the ball. The Cowboys piled up 366 yards, 316 of them through the air, and still lost. They turned it over three times. Tampa Bay never did.
